Bump Update~ 32 Weeks!

It has been a pretty long time since I wrote anything, so I thought I would share how the pregnancy is going...

Total weight gain/loss~This one area that I don't keep track of.  Here is what I can tell you though, in the last six weeks I have not gained any weight and I estimate my total weight gain since finding out is somewhere between 15-20lbs.  But my stomach continues to grow about an inch a week and the doctor is not concerned, so neither am I!

Maternity clothes~ Basically all I wear.  There area  few tanks that I can still wear underneath some things, but those are getting pretty streched out now.  I actually just discovered that two pairs of my capris no longer fit (well they fit, just a little snug around the belly area) so I guess I am in need of new ones-guess I have to go shopping!  I actually get away with quite a few sundresses that are not maternity but empire wasited, so it makes me feel a little better sometimes...

Stretch Marks~ Luckily and thankfully-none!  My Mom is proud to report that she NEVER had stretch marks with me or my brother, so I am thinking that I will not have any either.  But, I do put cocoa butter on twice a day-just in case!

Sleep~It's okay for the most part...I wake up about twice a night to use the bathroom, sometimes three times if I'm not sleeping well.  I've been using a wedge pillow to put under my belly and it helps a lot and depending on how I'm sleeping that night I may put a throw pillow behind my back just in case I roll on to it, then I have some elevation (even though I sleep on 2-3 pillows each night depending on my indigestion!).

Movement~ Aiden is all over the place!  I am starting to be able to pick out his "nap times" a little better and his movements aren't full blown kicks anymore, more like flips in my stomach!  Hiccups are a daily occurance for us...although they kind of freak Daddy out a bit!

Food Cravings~ Still not really craving much.  Its been very HOT here the last few weeks, so I have been drinking lots of water and having some ice cream at night.  Watermelon is I guess the only thing I 'crave', not the running to the store at midnight craving but if its around, I could eat the whole thing!

Gender~ Baby boy!

Labor Signs~ NONE!  Yeah!

Belly Button In or Out~ Its still 'in', but I have noticed a mole that I know wasn't there pre-pregnancy,  (or at least in the last 3 years before I took my piercing out)...it will be getting removed after Aiden is born.  So I guess it is poking out a little more than usual.

Weekly Wisdom~ Take a child birth class.  I complained about having to take one but I'm glad that we are, even though Daddy could only go to two of the classes, it answered a lot of his questions.

Milestones~ Only 8 weeks left!

What I'm Looking Forward To~ My baby showers, we had our first this weekend and it was great!  Oh and Friday~Daddy comes home on Friday (and then leaves again on Sunday, but Aiden and I are not focusing on that, just waiting patiently until Friday!)

~Pictures to come soon...we haven't downloaded them yet!

FRIDAY!!!

Its finally Friday! This week has gone by so slow, but I am in a great mood today and I'm thinking today might go by pretty quick (well work at least!)....

So I thought I would take the opportunity today introduce our newest addition to the family! Meet Aiden Joseph!

Although this picture is almost a month old now, it still melts my heat everytime I see it...I just love how you can pick out his tiny features already~just amazing! As you can imagine, Daddy was beyond thrilled that we're having a boy....in fact I don't think he could have had a better day if he tried (well if you don't count our wedding day)....we had the ultrasound first thing int he morning, found out its a BOY, went out to breakfast (and if you Ryan he LOVES his pancakes!)and then spent the rest of the day at the Cardinals Opening Day! (Okay so the picture is almost 4 years old, but its the first one that I found...either way we LOVE our Cardinals!)

Sunday is my first "almost" Mother's Day...although my god daughter always makes sure that I am honored (being a god parent is very special in my family...well at least it is to me and her, she doesn't even introduce me as her cousin, she says "Kimmy is my god mother"), this is my first year of being a Mommy (well almost)...I can only imagine what next year will feel like...who am I kidding, I'll probably be exhausted and ready for a vacation...but it will all be worth it. This year, I will enjoy my last few months of being able to get as much sleep as I want or need and look forward to next year when a little life will depend solely on Ryan and I for everything. So THANK YOU to our Grandmothers who have loved us and spoiled us so much that we can't wait for Aiden to meet his and THANK YOU to our Mom's who have have raised two beautiful people who will hopefully make you proud as we become Mommy and Daddy in the coming months. And to the rest of the amazing and selfless mother's, enjoy your day~it is well deserved!

Welcome!

I'm going to give this a try and see if it takes off...

So let's see I'm a 28 year old newlywed, mom to be, daughter, sister and friend. 2010 has been the year that our world was changed, got engaged on Thanksgiving Eve 2009, and began planning our wedding for May 2011~but there were some other plans in store for us to start our lives together a little bit sooner rather than later!

In early January, we decided on a whim to enter the Y98 Mega Wedding contest. We had to submit a written entry (98 words or less) of our story and why we should be chosen to be a finalist. If we were chosen as one of the final 4 couples, the public would have to vote for us to determine the winner. A few days later, Ryan recieved a phone call from the radio station to let us know that we were in the Top 10 final couples! We had to go to the radio station that night, record a video to tell our story and why people should vote for us. The final 4 couples would be announced on air Friday morning....Well Friday morning came and we anxiously waited to hear if we had made it. After the first 3 couples were announced, my hopes were getting diminished when I heard Jen (one of the DJ's) say that Couple #4 had an interesting story...Ryan knew right then that it was us...we dated each other's best friends in high school.

For the next 10 days we were officially known as Couple #4! Voting kicked off at 10:00a that morning along with a whirlwind of emotions and campaigning...see this is not a small prize to win. The winning couple would recieve and wedding valued at $30k!! The whole kit and kaboodle would be ours for the taking (dress, tux, ceremony and reception at the Sheldon concert hall, honeymoon, limo, photographer, engagement pictures, cake, caterer, hair and make up, just to name a few!). We had to win, our families were consumed with it...then after the longest 10 days of our lives, on Monday January 18 we recieved the phone call that we had been waiting for~WE WON!!! We blew the competition out of the water with twice the amount of votes as the second place couple!!

So the next three weeks were spent planning a wedding fast and furious (all of the vendors were already layed out for us, we just had to go and pick our options). Ryan and I were married on the air on February 12, 2010 at the gorgeous Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis. Oh by the way, did I mention that in the midst of our engagement, we found out that we're expecting?!

This has been one crazy and exciting year so far and I cannot wait to see what the rest of it brings us. Stayed tuned...its sure to be a fun ride!!
